Neuroemotional Technique (NET)
NET combines aspects of Traditional Chinese Medicine, chiropractic and applied kinesiology to restore balance to body and mind.
Neuremotional Technique (NET) is a specialized and powerful applied kinesiology technique which helps to normalize unresolved physical and behavioural patterns in the body.
This type of therapy treats behavioural and physical conditions by identifying and removing the neurological imbalances related to the physiology of unresolved stress. Normally we process stress and let it go. Sometimes, when the body fails to let go of these responses we can find ourselves with unexplained aversions, self-sabatoging behaviours, destructive beliefs, phobias, and many chronic physical problems. By applying a Traditional Chinese Medicine, chiropractic and muscle testing approach with NET we can hone in on the specific imbalances and let go of these stuck mind-body stress patterns.
When you are in a weakened physiological state due to poor nutrition, stress, physical trauma or imbalanced energetic meridians, everyday responses may not resolve naturally. We become more susceptible to these maladaptive responses to the stressors.
Emotional trauma, in the presence of a meridian or structural deficit, can cause a pathophysiological-related pattern which does not resolve itself.
As life progresses when experiencing a similar situation, the old response and feedback loop can kick in. Just like Pavlov’s dog experiment of linking the sound of a bell with being fed, events and situations in our life can be linked to our responses and feelings.
Our emotional reality can dramatically affect our health.
Unlike talk-it-out psychotherapy, counseling, and other therapeutic modalities, which are necessary – NET works specifically with the physiology of the emotional-stress response. This response is a complex reactive pattern of changes in response to a stimulus which causes changes in neuronal chemistry and neurological, vascular, and muscular tone. NET does not treat emotions per se, but, addresses the Neuroemotional Complexes in weakened physiological states that have ultimately made the body vulnerable.
What can NET help with?
NET can help with a variety of conditions and is a helpful part of the treatment program.
- Depression, anxiety, and mood balance
- Chronic pain
- Chronic spinal subluxations
- Managing fatigue, lack of focus, difficulty concentrating
- Chronic digestive disorders
- Unresolved emotions, PTSD
- Insomnia
- Chronic health conditions that have been unresponsive to other forms of treatment
What can you expect with NET?
After an initial intake, NET may be prescribed by Dr. Sraw. Depending on the individual needs and severity of symptoms, sessions are typically 20-40 minutes long and scheduled at least 3-4 weeks apart. The total amount of treatments required will depend on the response and progress.
Optimal nutrition, supplementation, stress management, and adequate sleep are all factors that influence healing. Most, if not all, patients benefit from working on these factors, alongside NET sessions, to optimize success.
With NET, Dr. Sraw can pinpoint your very real physiological response to a stimulus, a situation that brings up the unresolved stress reaction memory. Once the system is brought back into balance, your mind and body can heal, relieving you of the symptoms caused by your unresolved stress.
Your Next Steps
Step 1
History
Your initial session is your opportunity to share your health goals, and for Dr. Sraw to gather vital information that will help determine the root cause of your concerns and to determine the best treatment plan for you.
A complete medical and lifestyle history regarding the details of your current and past health concerns, lifestyle and current medication and supplementation is taken during your initial session.
Step 2
Further Testing
To best optimize successful treatment, Dr. Sraw will suggest further testing be conducted by the end of the first session. Tests you have completed from the past may be requested, as well. Further testing may include: Neurotransmitter Testing, Lab Testing and/or Applied Kinesiolgy.
Step 3
Examination
Your initial session will include a physical examination, vitals check, and/or applied kinesiology to assess your health and ensure safety.
Step 4
Review of Findings
With Dr. Sraw determining you are a candidate for NET, he will prepare you for your first treatment, reviewing the set-up, what to expect, and possible side effects and benefits of NET. Treatment is initiated at the follow up session and so on.
